WOOSTER – Carlyn Bertie Hesser, 81, of Wooster, passed away at the family home on April 27, 2009.
She was born May 27, 1927 in Silverton, Colorado to Domenica Chiono Bertram and Carl Bertram. She was a graduate of Silverton High School and served as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines for six years. She married Bob Hesser on March 7, 1954, and they recently celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Bertie was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Wooster and an active member of the Association of Retired Employees of Continental Airlines. She was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers and a passionate supporter of the Denver Broncos. In addition, she loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas and Florida, making new friends every step of the way. She had a zest for life, and her favorite times were spent having fun, surrounded by her friends and family.
Surviving are her husband Bob, children Keith of Phoenix, Arizona; Jana (Tim Davidson) and family of Stamford, Connecticut; Kent of Houston, Texas; Leanna (Jeff) Cempre of Worthington and grandchildren Tyler and Casey Cempre. In addition, she is survived by her loving friend, JoAnne (Roger) Worley.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no calling hours. A private family burial will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 29 at 11:00am officiated by the Reverends Jim Watt and Jim Bean. .
