WOOSTER – Florence M BROWN, 102, of Wooster passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Wooster Community Hospital
She was born April 4, 1907 in Wooster, the daughter of Lewis and Amelia Bauman Nussbaum.
She had been a sales clerk at Freedlanders for 17 years and then worked at the Apple Creek State Hospital and she was a dietitian Castle Nursing Home retiring when she was 80 years old. She was a life long member of the Apple Creek United Methodist Church and the Star Light Card Club. She was active in the Johnny Appleseed Days at Apple Creek and was a volunteer at Wooster Community Hospital..
Surviving are daughter, Beverly (Everett Rod) Hayes of Wooster and son, Lawrence Barr of Mission Viejo, CA, grandson, Bryan Scott Hayes of Davis, CA, granddaughter, Deborah James of San Diego, CA, great-granddaughters, Madaleine C. Hayes and Jayden O. James, great-grandson, Carson S. Hayes.
Florence was preceded in death her parents, her husband, Scott Brown, in 1972 and sisters, Eva Tracey and Ada Daniels.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00 A,.M.at the Apple Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Cooper officiating.
