WOOSTER – Norman C MICHELS, 71, of Wooster passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in his home.
He was born November 19, 1937 in Detroit, MI, son of Anthony W and Mary A Van Hulle Michels.
He retired from A.C.V. (Volvo White) in Orrville as an industrial engineer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Norman was an avid fisherman, woodworker and a Detroit sports fan. He also made bird houses out of gourds. He served his country with the U.S. Marines..
Surviving are wife, Patricia A Gores Michels, whom he married July 14, 1962; his children Jeffrey Michels of Wooster, Lori Ann Michels of CT and Kelli Michels of Tallahassee, FL; 6 grandchildren, a brother, Owen Skip Michels of Tecsumech, MI and a sister Caroline Carol (Todd) McGinnis of Apple Creek.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Monday, May 25, 2009 from 6-8:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Stephen Moran as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Wooster.
