RITTMAN – Charles A. Chick JEWELL, 85, of Rittman passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at his home.
He was born October 8, 1923 in Akron, the son of Victor and Lenora Hale Jewell.
He was a 1941 graduate of Wooster High School. He had been a printer at the former Henry Printing Co. which later became Wooster Printing and Litho and he retired from the Morton Salt Company as a Printer after 20 years of employment. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Rittman. Chick served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII.
Surviving are wife, Marjorie Kennedy Jewell, to whom he had been married 61 years; his children, Victoria A Euga of Wooster and Gregory C. Jewell of Huntsville, AL; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Jewell, brothers, Daniel, Merwin C, Russell, James E. and Hadley Jewell and a sister, Jeanette Giffen.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Monday, June 15, 2009 from 6-8:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with The Rev. Father Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Wooster.
