WOOSTER – Eugene L HORNER, 78, of Wooster passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 in West View Manor Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 7, 1930 in Great Bend, KS, son of Merrill and Nettie McKinley Horner.
He was a 1949 graduate of Great Bend High School in Great Bend, Kansas. Eugene was an Oil Field Supply Salesman working for Sandy Supply for many years and retired from RDM Equipment. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge. Served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War..
Surviving are a son, Rick Horner of Murfreesboro, TN and a daughter Marisa (Dale) Bowman of Wooster; grandchildren Brittany and Brandon Bowman.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Geneva J Schugart Horner on July 24, 2005 whom he married June 6, 1951.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster on Monday, June 29, 2009 from 6-9:00 P.M. with an Elks Memorial Service at 5:30 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Stephen Moran as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery.
