Virginia Anne Fishburn, 86, of Wooster died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at her residence.
She was born on July 30, 1923 in Shreve to Forest and Clella (MacDonald) Ewing and married Richard Fishburn on November 21, 1947 in Shreve. Richard died on August 16, 1969.
She is survived by children James (Lori) Fishburn and Sally Fishburn all of Wooster. Grandchildren Kristi Ogden, Rich, John and Joe Fishburn, Jane Leisure and Jade and Dustin (Julia) Fishburn. Great-Grandchildren are Audra and Lauren Fishburn and a sister, Nancy Sidle.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughters Anne Vagnini and Judy Leisure and sisters Frances Mairs and Mary Shrimplin.
Virginia loved her family and especially caring for her two great-granddaughters. She loved to read and was an avid golfer, recording a hole-in-one. She was a 50 year member of the Wooster United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile, People to People Ministries and Women?s Auxiliary of the Wooster Community Hospital. She also participated in many organizations and gave to various charities.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Wooster United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. David Wilcox and Rev. Larry Black officiating. Friends will be received after the service at a reception in Wesley Hall. A private graveside burial will be held.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with arrangements.
