WEST SALEM – Billy Joe JACKSON, 67, of West Salem, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009 in Akron City Hospital from a sudden illness.
He was born August 12, 1942 in Fairmont, WV, son of Lester and Pauline Davis Jackson.
He was a retired truck driver and had worked for the Wayne Co. Highway Dept. for 23 years. He was a member of Ebenezer Lodge #33 F&Am, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, the Al Koran Shrine and the Wooster Shrine Club.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley George Jackson, to whom he had been married 40 years; his children, James Scott (Christie) Jackson of Wadsworth, Jamerson (Laura) Jackson and Joshua (Alicia) Jackson both of Wooster, grandchildren Sebastian, Jonathan, Abagail, William, Cable and Kyleigh.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerome Jackson and a brother Robert Lee Jackson.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster on Wednesday evening from 6-9:00 P.M with a Masonic Memorial Service at 5:30 P.M..
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. John Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Pioneer Cemetery.
