WOOSTER – Edward F SCHUCH, 80, of Wooster passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in his home.
He was born July 14, 1929 in Wooster, the son of Emil Pete and Ella L Franks Schuch.
He was a graduate of Ashland University in 1952 and retired as Fire Chief for the City of Wooster in 1987 after 34 years with the department. In his retirement, he drove school bus retiring in 2007. He attended the First Church of God, was a lifetime member of the Wooster Elks Lodge, a Past Secretary of Kiwanis, a member of the Masonic Lodge, was a Past President of the Ohio Fire Chief’s Association and a member of the National Rifle Association and had served on Wooster City Council for the last six years. Served his country with the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are wife, Janet Gardner Schuch, whom he married September 13, 1960; daughter, Kimberly (Greg-Estep) Schuch of Wooster, grandchildren Kara Schuch, Karli Schuch, Kamryn Schuch-Estep, Kassidy Schuch-Estep and Kaden Edward Schuch-Estep.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with Hospice Chaplain Sharon Carson officiating. Private burial will be in the Wooster Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
