WOOSTER – George Franklin Pete CLOGG, 83, of Wooster, passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 in Akron City Hospital.
He was born July 4, 1926 in Strongsville the son of Oscar and Corinne Collier Clogg.
He attended Berea High School and Baldwin Wallace College where he was on the track team and was a member of Lamda Chi Alpha Fraternity and was an insurance underwriter for the Westfield Insurance Co. for 40 years. He liked gardening, sports and being with his grandchildren and his family. Pete was also a volunteer at People to People Ministries. He was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church and had previously belonged to the Leroy United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Ross Clogg, whom he married August 15, 1953; daughters, Betsy Louise (Jack) Holbrook of Johnstown, OH and Judy Stephens of West Dundee, IL, 6 grandchildren; a sister, Constance Smith of Corvalis, Oregon.
George was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Peter Ross Clogg on March 20, 2002; brothers, Robert and Richard Clogg.
A graveside memorial services will be held Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. at the Westfield Center Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Black officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with arrangements.
