WOOSTER – Lucile SWINEHART, 83, of Wooster passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 in the Heartland of Beavercreek Nursing Home in Beavercreek, Ohio.
She was born May 3, 1926 in Wooster, the daughter of Jacob Jay and Edith V. Funk Hagerman.
Lucile was a graduate of Chester High School and the Wooster Business College. She had worked for Wayne Savings for 30 years serving as treasurer from 1958 until her retirement. Previously she had worked for 8 years at the Central Trust Bank. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, a member of the Triway Athletic Boosters, a charter member of the Westwood Garden Club and was a member of the Investorettes Investment Club.
Surviving are a son, Keith (Marsha) Swinehart of Xenia, OH and a daughter Jeanne (Ted) Alspach of Columbus, a granddaughter, Christine Alspach of Columbus.
Lucile was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alvin W. Swinehart, on May 1, 2006 whom she married October 26, 1952.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the 11:00 A.M. service at the Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster, OH 44691 on Saturday, January 9, 2010 with the Rev. Dr. Alan E. Nathan officiating. Interment will follow in the Reedsburg Cemetery, Wooster.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St.,Wooster, OH 44691.
