Edna Ed Barbara Duvall SWINEHART, 90, of Wooster, died Saturday January 9, 2010 at West View Manor Nursing Home.
She was born September 20, 1919 on the family farm in Franklin, NC, daughter of the late William Caro and Rosie (Mchan) Duvall.
She was a member of Eastern Star and a tour guide at the Wayne County Historical Society.
Ed loved her family and cooking good food, had a wry sense of humor, was an avid gardener and had a green thumb. She loved her many friends and spent many hours drinking coffee with them at McDonalds and traveling with them on cruises and on senior bus tours. During WWII she and her friends followed their husbands from duty to duty, until their husbands were shipped out to Europe. She loved her three grandchildren and told them many stories and loved to spend time with them.
She is survived by daughter, Virginia K. Swinehart of Atlanta, GA, son, James (Marsha) Swinehart of Wooster, granddaughters, Gretchen Swinehart of Oceano, CA, Nicole Swinehart of Worthington, Amanda Swinehart of Columbus, and brothers, Wayne and Harry Duvall.
Along with her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Arlo Swinehart in 1980 and brothers Wint and Clint Duvall.
Services will be held at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St, Wooster on Wednesday January 13, at 2:30 PM. Interment will follow in the Apple Creek Cemetery nest to her beloved husband and avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, Arlo.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
