WOOSTER – Harold LaVerne Vernie CONN, 80, of Wooster, passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 in Select Specialty Hospital in Canton after complications from a fall.
He was born March 23, 1929 in Wooster, son of Olie and Mary Mowrer Conn.
He had worked for Walter Jones for 35 years and was a lifetime member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18 AFL-CIO. He loved restoring John Deere Tractors and was associated with Conn & Sons Grain Threshers of Wayne Co.
Surviving are daughter, Carolyn Baker of Wooster and a son, David Conn of Staten Island, NY; grandchildren Julie (Steven) Berkhouse of Circleville and Kevin (Amanda) Baker of Wooster; great- grandchildren, Shea and Ben Berkhouse and Megan and Kaitlyn Baker; a brother, Paul Conn of Wooster.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Wilma L. Cadmus Conn, brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Walter Conn, sisters, Margaret (Harry) Miller, Beulah (William) Hartman and Treva Conn.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday evening from 7-9:00 P.M.
There will be no services.
