WOOSTER – Ronald C. Amstutz, 66, died February 7, 2010 at Wooster Community Hospital. He was loving in life, steadfast in faith and peaceful in dying.
He was born on November 11, 1943 in Wooster, Ohio, the only child of Noah and Vera (Snyder) Amstutz., who preceded him in death.
Ron graduated from Orrville High School in 1961 and attended The Ohio State University. In 1965, he married Susan Jensen of Rittman, Ohio. He worked for Buehler’s Fine Foods , starting in high school as a bagger, becoming the manager of the Orrville Store, and moving to the corporate office as a buyer. He retired from Buehler’s in 2007. He had been a deacon of Christ United Church of Christ in Orrville for many years, and most recently a member and deacon of the First Church of God in Wooster. He was active in the Orrville Lions Club and the Gnat Boxers Square Dance Club.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Susan Jensen Amstutz and two sons, Brian (Kim) and Keith (Diane). He will be greatly missed by his loving grandchildren, Rebecca, Katie, Andrea, Nicole and Benjamin. In addition, he is survived by and will be missed by his extended family of Jensens, including his mother-in-law, Ruth Jensen, brothers-in-law, Douglas (Jacquie), David (Jill), Raymond (Lori Begue), Steven (Wendy) and James (Mary Beth), plus sisters-in-law, Lorraine and Carolyn (Floyd) and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the First Church of God on Tuesday evening from 4-6:00 P.M. followed by a memorial service at 6:00 P.M. with the Rev. Arnie Kauffman officiating.
McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family with arrangements.
