WOOSTER – Mary Marlene Shorty SEIP, 76, of Wooster, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in her home.
She was born November 21, 1933 in Wooster, the daughter of John and Esther Walter Rouhier.
She retired as a bookkeeper from Art Bucher Buick-Cadillac and in her retirement she was a cashier at the former Hawkins Cafeteria in Wooster. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where she served on the Prayer Shawl Ministery and was an avid bowler and sports fan. She was well known for her spunkiness and her sense of humor.
Surviving are daughter, Amy Martin of Shreve, a step-son, Marvin (Veronica) Seip of Florida, grandchildren, Tyler and Ben Martin; a brother, Lloyd Rouhier of Dayton and a sister, Marjorie Bonham of Hudson and her three feline friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin Seip, on November 1, 2003, a son, Steven Shobe and brothers, Marvin, Lawrence and Bernard Rouhier.
A memorial services will be held at at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Dr. Alan E. Nathan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Private inurnment will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
