WOOSTER – Marion Joseph Joe Baker, 60, of Wooster, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 in his home..
He was born January 21, 1950 in Millersburg, son of Marion Curtis and Margaret Graham Baker. On May 23, 1991 he married Barbara Campbell. She survives.
He had been the traffic manager in the shipping and receiving at American Auger from 1994 to the present and previously he had been the shipping and receiving manager at AstroMet from 1975 to 1994. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, softball, bowling and was a Cleveland Browns Fan, a member of the American Legion and the Rifleman’s Association of America. He actively served his country with the Army Nation Guard and retired from the National Guard in 1991 after 21 years of service.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Julie (Steven) Berkhouse of Circleville, OH and a son, Kevin (Amanda) Baker of Wooster; a step-son, Gregory Campbell and a step-daughter, Lisa Freyman both of Wooster; grandchildren, Shea and Ben Berkhouse and Megan and Kaitlyn Baker; step-grandchildren, Zachary Campbell and Stephanie, Samatha, Steven and Chris Freyman; a step-great-grandson, Michael Freyman and a sister, Maureen Kadel of Covington, OH, many nieces and nephews and relatives from Northern Ireland.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwil St., Wooster on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Christopher Trenta as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
