Wooster- Walter O. Pearson, 82, of Wooster, died Thursday April 1, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on March 30, 1928 in Granite City, IL son of the late Walter D. and Irene (Orr) Pearson.
He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Walter was a graduate of Missouri University in Rolla, MO and worked as a civil engineer for Illinois Terminal Railroad for 25 years, then later was with the Sverdrup Engineering Company. While he was in Wooster, he did taxes for 16 years for A.A.R.P. He was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church, Wooster Noon Lions Club; a Senior Men?s Golf League and was a Mason in Granite City for 50 years.
Walter is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy (Stein) Pearson; son Thomas of St. Louis, MO; daughter Nancy (Robert) Metze of Wooster; grandchildren Becky Mensch, Ryan Brooks, Sarah and Jason Metze; great grandchildren Alexis Brooks and Caleb Mensch and a sister Martha (Phil) Hogan of Kimberly City, MO.
Funeral services will be held on Monday April 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St, Wooster, with Rev. Larry Black officiating. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
