WOOSTER – Betty H ARMSTRONG, 92, of Wooster passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 following an extended period of declining health at West View Manor. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services.
Betty was born December 1, 1917 in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Oren and Emma Painter Herl.
She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. She taught in junior high school in Ridgewood, NJ for many years. Prior to her teaching in Ridgewood Public Schools, she served on the Ridgewood Board of Education attaining the position of Vice President. She moved to Wooster in 1985 and enjoyed taking part in the Women’s Civic Club and bridge activities.
Surviving are children, Jeff Armstrong of Mahwah, NJ and Jeanne (Alfred) Bradford of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, David (Lynne) Armstrong, Tim Jupin, Heidi (Chad) Sweeney and 3 great-granddaughters Cheyenne and Savannah Sweeney and Kaely Armstrong. She is also survived by a sister, June Norris of Orrville.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Richard Herl.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
