Charles A. Holt Sr. 90, of Smithville died Sunday May 9 2010 at Glendora Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday May 12, 2010 at the Smithville United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Peachey officiating. Burial will follow in Smithville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. and one hour prior to the sevices at the church.
He was born May 6, 1920 in Anmore West Virginia the son of Charles W. and Estella L. Moore Holt.
Charles was a retired supervisor for Westinghouse. He served his country in the United States Army Airforce during WWII in the 82nd Airbourne division as paratrooper. He was a 51 year member of the Smithville United Methodist Church, The American Legion, a former member of the Smithville Lions Club and had volunteered for People to People.
Surviving are: His wife of 64 years V. Louise Morrison Holt, of Smithville. Children: Charles (Nancy) Holt Jr. of Smithville, Rebecca Louise Holt of Orrville, and Karen Lynn Holt of Wooster. Grandchildren: Andrea (Todd) Gerber, Ammey (Michael) McNally, Melissa Bertsch, and Keith (Natasha) Holt. Great- Grandchildren: Jackson and Owen McNally, Tyler Belles, Katie Gerber and Easton Holt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Siblings: Everette Holt, Margaret Mace, Blanche Stout, Robert Holt and Ruth Retherford.
