WOOSTER – Carol Jean JEFFRIES, 68, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in her home.
She was born December 18, 1941 in Mansfield, the daughter of Earl and Helen Meadows Zimmerman. She married Ray Jeffries on January 5, 1963. He survives.
She was the co-owner of Wayne Lanes for over 30 years and had previously owned Empress Beauty Salon and the Wooster Dairy Land and had worked at Wooster High School. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a was a member of Wooster Raquet Club, was an avid tennis player, golfer and bowler. Carol enjoyed walking, crafts and scrapbooking. She was a 1960 graduate of Wooster High School.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons Greg (Lisa) Jeffries and Tim (Lisa) Jeffries both of Wooster; grandchildren, Kara, Kristen, Emma, Nathan, Nick, Colby and Marc.; her twin sister, Jane (Gene) Cantlebury of Avon Lake, sister-in-law, Carol Zimmerman of Tampa, FL.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Trent Zimmerman
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 5-8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with The Rev. Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Wooster.
