WOOSTER – Jerry L. Chapman, 59, of Wooster passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at his home with his family by his side after a brief illness.
He was born April 20, 1951 in Wooster to William T. and Sylvia E. (Spencer) Chapman. He married Carol Tersigne on June 15, 1974. She survives.
He attended Wooster City Schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1973. He was employed at the Gerstenslager Co. for 41 years and he owned and operated Chapman and Son Mowing for 22 years. He also worked part time at Rural King of Ohio for the past 5 years. Jerry had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with his family boating and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 35 years are a son Joseph (Suzanne) Chapman and a daughter Anna (Nate) Cassio ; grandchildren Trever and Jordan Chapman and Aubrianna and Marisa Cassio with another Cassio grandchild coming soon all of Wooster; sisters Elizabeth (Francis) Dellafave of Wooster, Helen (Charles) Hunter of Orrville and a brother David (Sona) Chapman of Dalton and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his father-in-law Ralph Tersigne.
Friends may call on Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-9:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Bill Eshelman officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
