WOOSTER – Eva Gilt BERNER, 89, of Wooster, entered into eternal rest with Jesus Sunday, July 11, 2010 in Wooster Community Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born November 12, 1920 in Holmes County, the daughter of Charles and Cora Crilow Gilt. She married Henry R. Berner on April 17, 1935. He died October 22, 2003.
She retired from Wooster Community Hospital in 1979. Eva attended West Hill Baptist Church, enjoyed listening to music, feeding birds, gardening and visiting with family.
Surviving are her children, Mary (Atlee) Stutzman of Wooster, Shirley (Harold) Stutzman of Boliver, Clifford (Roberta) Berner of Wooster, Debbie (David) Garver and Robin (Richard) Spade both of Lakeville, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Proper and Dora Tharp both of Wooster and Amanda Amstutz of Sugar Creek.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Alvin, Carl and Charles Gilt.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Shreve.
