SMITHVILLE – Elinore J. Hartzler 83, of Smithville died Saturday July 17, 2010 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday July 22, 2010 in Smithville Cemetery with Rev. Art Carr officiating. The family will receive friends at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster, Ohio 44691 from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday evening July 21, 2010.
She was born April 20th 1927 in Creston the daughter of Galen C. and Fern McFadden Slater. In August of 1950 she married Robert D. Hartzler who preceded her in death on April 1, 1990.
She was a 1945 graduate of Wooster High School. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Freedlander?s Department Store. She was a member of the Smithville Brethren Church, the Smithville Yarn Club, a volunteer for the Wooster Community Hospital Auxiliary and Every Woman?s House. She enjoyed painting, pottery, loved her roses and feeding and watching birds.
Surviving are her children: Diane Hartzler of Smithville, Jeff (Lori) Hartzler of Smithville and Fritz Hartzler of Smithville. Grandchildren: Alissa (Steve) Norris of Smithville and Eric Hartzler of Smithville. A great-grandchild Molly Norris. Sisters: Evelyn Frazier of Connecticut, and Marge Lucas of Wooster.
Along with her husband and parents Elinore was preceded in death by an infant son Ronnie Hartzler and a sister Janet Buchwalter.
