ORRVILLE – Helen M MCCONAHAY, 85, of Orrville, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 in Brenn-field Nursing Home, Orrville, Ohio.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Smithville Brethren Church at 6:00 P.M. with the Rev. Ray Aspinall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Helen was born October 24, 1924 in Green Township to David J. and Icie E. (King) Zook and married William W. McConahay on January 20, 1946.
Helen became a single mother of four sons after the death of her beloved husband many years ago in 1970.
She attended Wooster Business College and worked at the Ohio Boxboard in Rittman and the Ohio Injection offices in Wadsworth. She also worked for the Wayne Co. Welfare Department for 15 years. She moved to Florida in 1978 where she lived for 26 years. In Florida she worked for older people a number of years driving them to doctor appointments and wherever they needed to go.
She and her husband joined the Smithville Brethren Church in June of 1947. She was the church secretary for 6 years and taught the Jr. Brethren Youth for 15 years. While in Florida she taught the Wednesday evening youth for several years.
She has four surviving sons, Rex William (Bobbi) McConahay of Wooster, Terry Lee (Jacque) McConahay of Shreve, Gene Alan (Susan) McConahay of Smithville and Thomas Ray McConahay of Lebanon, IN; grandchildren Aaron (Renee), Eric (Rebecca), Nathan (Nikki), Robert, Sarah Lyn (Eric) McConahay-Hanneman, Brenden, Beth, Tori, Drew, Ben (Courtney), David, Hanah and great-grandchildren Kacie, Ebony and Micah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Howard Leroy Zook and Edwin David Zook and two sisters Esther Irene Zook
