Together Again
WOOSTER – John Williams CARNEY, 92, of Wooster, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 in Smithville Western Care Center.
He was born September 28, 1917 in Littleton, WV, son of Leslie H and Rosa Williams Carney. He was married to Etta Belcher for 49 years. She died October 4, 2004.
He was the foreman of the truck drivers for W.B. Armstrong Drilling.
Surviving are his daughters, Donna Jones of Wooster, Ann Gosser of Elizabethtown, KY, and Nancy Varney of Jonesborough, TN, grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Liz Jones, Audrey Jones,Deb Gosser and Anita Hall; Tracy Garrett, Vicki Boy, great-grandchildren, Lucas Jenkins and Logan Hall. Special friends Richard and Glenda Shilling and extended family Jack Jones.
In addition to his wife, John was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Elizabeth Showalter and Betty Weddington.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 2-4:00 p.m.
Services will be held at Funeral Home, Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jamie Rickard officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
