WOOSTER – Galen E. JENKINS, 61, of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in Hospice of Visiting Nurse Hospital in Copley.
He was born January 31, 1949 in Coshocton Co the son of Howard and Sylvia Henry Jenkins.
He retired in 2006 from the Akron Brass Co. after 30 years of service. Galen enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He served his country with the U.S. Army.
Surviving are daughters, Tracy (Randall) Blakely and Cassandra (Chris) Greenawalt both of Danville; grandchildren, Jessica Francis, Andrew Francis, Christopher Greenawalt, Cody Jenkins, Cayla Steinmetz, Shannon Eyster and Dakota Blakely; great-grandchildren, Jude Galen Jenkins and Mason Steinmetz; Siblings Richard Jenkins of Coshocton, Jr. Henry of Wooster, Grace Jenkins of Shreve, Marilyn Rousseau of Fredericktown and Kenny Jenkins of Fraziesburg, OH.
Galen was preceded in death by his parents, granddaaughter, Whittney Francis, a brother, Lloyd Jenkins and a sister Phyllis Jenkins.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 A.M. service on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. James Valentine officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring Mountain Cemetery in Coshocton County.
