George W. Starr 83 of Wooster died Friday Sept. 24, 2010 at his home. A service of Christian burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday Sept. 27, 2010 at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home with Father Steven Moran officiating. Burial will follow in Reedsburg cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 3-5 pm.
He was born October 25, 1926 in Wooster Ohio the son of George M. and Helen Ellsperman Starr. In 1946 he married Alice Mae Canancamp who survives.
George worked for United Telephone Company for 30 years retiring in 1977 as Engineering Manager. He went to serve his country during his senior year in High school during WWII and graduated from Smithville High school in 2007. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Along with his wife he is survived by his children: Mary Beth (Dale) Sungy, of Akron. Mike (Flora) Starr of Shreve, and Rebecca (Paul) Klopfenstein of Plymouth Ohio. 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. And numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather and will be sadly missed by all.
