WOOSTER ? Bertha Nadine Bunt, 88, of Wooster died Monday, October, 2010 in Wooster Community Hospital.
Bertha was born November 16, 1921 in Akron to Raymond and Louise Rupp Rake. She married Victor G. Bunt on June 6, 1939. He died on February 2, 1970.
She had been a dispatcher with the Ohio State Highway Patrol where she retired after 18 years of service. Bertha had previously worked at International Paper Company , Bates Auto Dealership and Maibach Ford. She was a member of Northview CM & A Church where she served as a Deaconess, was a member of AARP Chapter 467 where she served as treasurer until it was disbanded in 2006. In her early years, Bertha had enjoyed riding her Indian Scout Motorcycle and racing stock cars and in her later years she enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are her children Sandra (Walter) Bowers, Rosalie (Freeman) Yutzy and Mary Bunt all of Wooster, Nancy Amstutz of Creston, Victor Bunt of Creston and William Bunt of Rittman; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Shirley (Hubert) Webb of West Virginia and Gilda (Maurice) Brumfield of Columbus.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by a daughter Betty Winn, a sister Martha Barath and brothers Eugene and Donald Rake.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, October 13, 2010 from 6-9:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Hospice Chaplain Tom Michaels officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
The family wishes to thank West View Manor, Wooster Community Hospital and Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co. for their care and guidance.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
