MT. VERNON – R.Clare WATSON, 91, of Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 in Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus.
He was born August 24, 1919 in Columbiana Co., OH, son of Roy A and Bertha Klotz Watson.
He had owned Watson Office Supply and was a member of Central Christian Church where he had taught Sunday School for many years. Clare was a past member of the Wooster Elks Lodge and the Wooster 20/30 Club and had volunteered with the American Lung Association.
Surviving are his children Lana (Nevin) Numbers of Loudonville, Larry (Gina) Watson of Wooster and Russell Watson of Columbus; grandchildren, Ryan and Chris Watson, Kevin and Bert Numbers, Laurie Powers and Jamie Murphy; step-grandchildren B.J. and Jon Nolletti. 18 great-grandchildren.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Laurabell Royer Watson, on May 12, 2002 and brothers Harris, Glenn, Harold, Wade, Ormond and Earl Watson and a sister Ethel Watson.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 6-8:00 P.M.
Private family graveside services will be held.
