APPLE CREEK – June M KOUNTZ, 95, of Apple Creek, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born June 4, 1915 in Barberton, the daughter of Alvin and Della Deneke Ziegler. She married Warren C. Kountz on December 17, 1949. He died in 1994.
She was a graduate of Smithville High School and the Canton Actual Business College where she was a member of Alpha Iota National Honorary Business Sorority. She worked in the purchasing office of Weber Dental Manufacturing and as a medical record librarian and surgical stenographer at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
She was a member of the East Union Lutheran Church, where she served communion with her husband and arranged flowers for the altar. She was also a member of Honeytown Garden Club and Gardenettes of Apple Creek. She enjoyed flowers as well as baking for family and friends and spending time with her grandsons.
Surviving are sons, Robert Kountz of Apple Creek and Dennis (Jean) Kountz of West Chester, PA, grandsons, Samuel and Duncan Kountz both of West Chester, PA and a sister, Pauline Peterson of Ames, Iowa..
In addition to her husband, June was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Stanley Ziegler, sisters, Arline Ziegler and Mary Stahl.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday afternoon, November 21, 2010 from 2-4:00 p.m.
Services will be held at East Union Lutheran Church on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Moskowitz officiating. Interment will follow in the East Union Cemetery, Wooster.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the East Union Lutheran Church, 7063 E. Lincolnway, Wooster, OH 44691.
