WOOSTER – Josephine ?Josie? DE HORTA, 52, of Wooster, passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 in Akron City Hospital.
She was born September 30, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Luis and Josefina Leon. She married Eric De Horta on February 17, 1978.
She had been a flight attendant for United Airlines. Josie was a member of the Church Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Women’s Relief Society and was a board member of the Ohio Community Theatre Association. She loved singing, acting, exercising, cooking and working for charities.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her parents; her children Derek, Paula, Joshua, Chelsie , Brandon, and Wesley all of Wooster; her brother, Julio Luis Leon of San Diego, California and a sister, Elibette Caudill of Miami, FL.
Friends will be received at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1388 Liahona Dr., Wooster, OH 44691 on Friday evening from 7-9:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Church on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Bishop Jerry Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
For the past four years, Josie has enjoyed taking part in ?Fantasy Flight?. A Christmas program to bring the wonderful spirit of Christmas for seriously ill children through end-of-life care. Josie would have loved that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Children?s Hospices International. ()
