WOOSTER – Donald W. BANEY, 92, of Wooster, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 in his home.
He was born January 27, 1918 in Canaan, Ohio, the son of Earl and Lillie Wiles Baney.
He was the owner and President of Quality Fiberglass in Marshallville. Donald was well known in the plastics industry having pioneered fiberglass in the trucking industry and bowling equipment. He was also one of the founders of D & K Manufacturing in Orrville. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ and had served his country with the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was an avid reader and sports fan and enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren..
Surviving are his children Sandra (Abe) Keim, Don (Linda L.) Baney, Debra Baney, son, Ronald K Baney all of Wooster and Linda J Baney of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Don Jr. (Andrea), Michelle, David and Michael, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, a brother, Roger Baney of Chardon.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Martha J Rufener Baney on August 5, 2002 whom he married May 8, 1944 and brothers Howard and Clifford.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 2-5:00 p.m.
A Memorial service will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 150 E. North St., Wooster with the Revs. Kevan Franklin and Glenn Royer officiating. Private family burial will be held.
