WOOSTER – Frances Armstrong GWIN, 79, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in West View Manor Nursing Home.
She was born June 2, 1931 in Augusta, Georgia, daughter of John and Dorothy Williams Armstrong.
She retired in 1994 from the Brecksville VA Hospital after fourteen years as a registered nurse. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, was a volunteer with Hospice & Palliative Care and was a YMCA volunteer.
Surviving are her children, Mark (Lynn) Gwin of St. Paul, Minnesota, Jackie (John) Adams of Lake Tahoe, Nevada and Kevin (Richelle)Gwin of Liberty Township, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, her siblings, John Armstrong, Dorothy Armstrong and Mary (Tom) Maxwell all of Augusta, Georgia and Marty (Eugena) Howerdd of Atlanta, Georgia.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John P. Jack Gwin, on May 12, 1999 whom she married June 7, 1952 and a son, Sean Gwin on October 13, 2005.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10:00 am with the Rev. Stephen Moran as celebrant.
