WOOSTER – Nancy E. McKee, 84, of Wooster, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011.
She was born January 28, 1926, in Wooster, Ohio, the only child of John D. and Ola Weygandt McKee. Her father was well-known in the College of Wooster community for his work in alumni relations from 1921 to 1960.
Nancy was a graduate of Wooster High School Class of 1944, and The College of Wooster Class of 1948. She worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Calfee, Halter & Griswold in Cleveland for 30 years, and returned to Wooster after her retirement in 1991. She loved dogs, and especially treasured her Whippet named Deacon. Nancy’s quirky, dry sense of humor was enjoyed by everyone who knew her.
Nancy is survived by first cousins Donald E. Weygandt of Orrville, Ohio; Ellen Weygandt Douglass, of Orrville, Ohio; Clark M. Weygandt of Signal Hill, California; Kathryn McKee of Harrisburg, Virginia; and William F. McKee of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and first cousins Janice Weygandt Traver, Clark W. Weygandt, Richard S. Weygandt, Mary C. Weygandt and Patricia McKee Lampl.
Services will be held at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, Ohio 44691 on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. with the Rev. Jeff Paschall officiatiing. Calling hours will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Wooster Cemetery.
