WOOSTER – Walter Walt Theodore MORRISON, 91, of Smithville, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 in Glendora Health Care Center.
He was born July 30, 1919 in Adrin, WV, the son of David and Rebecca Cutright Morrison.
He had worked as a shipping clerk at Westinghouse and was a member of the Smithville Church of the Brethren. He served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII with the 99th Infantry. Member of the Orrville VFW and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Surviving are wife, Doris Geraldine Jensen Morrison, whom he married June 29, 1952; a son, James Neil (JoAnne) Morrison of Nashville and a daughter, Denise (Charles Grahl) Pittman of Wooster; grandchildren, Cody Pittman, Heather (Tim) Rodi, Amanda Morrison and Myra Morrison; great-grandchildren, Evan Rodi and Liberty Pittman; a brother Willy Morrison of Wooster and a sister Louise Holt of Smithville.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roy, Opha, Carroll, Albert and Cecil Morrison and sisters Eula Robinson, Grace Simons, Birdy Beckner, Retha Taylor, Evalena Wilcox and an infant sister Birdie.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 6-8:00 pm.
Services will be held at the Smithville Church of the Brethren on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11:00 am with the Rev. H. Ray Aspinall officiating. Interment will follow in the Smithville Cemetery.
