William H. Franks 78 of Wooster died Monday February 14, 2011 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday February 18, 2011 at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Franks officiating. Burial will follow in Overton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm. Thursday evening.
He was born February 4, 1933 in Barberton Ohio, the son of William W. and Helena Dorothy Ryneer Franks. On December 24, 1952 he married Virginia Snoddy who preceded him in death on December 14, 2000.
William retired from the Wooster Brush Warehouse and prior to that had been an Auto Mechanic. And he was a part time farmer. He had been a member of the Englewood United Methodist Church in Englewood Florida. He was a member of the Wayne County Coon Hunters Association and had won the Coon Hunters World Championship.
Surviving are his children: Thomas (Judy) Franks of Wadsworth, Brenda (Joe) Franks Litt of Wooster, and Mark (Pilar) Franks of Winter Haven Florida. 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Siblings: Larry Franks of Jeromesville, Earl Franks of Wooster, Janet Reed of Florida, Evelyn Boreman of Wooster, and Ruth Switzer of Wooster.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County 2525 Back Orrville Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice for their care and support..
