WOOSTER – Mark Jeffrey KIEL, 58, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in his home after a courageous battle with kidney disease.
He was born July 30, 1952 in Lodi, the son of Albert J and Marilyn Strouse Kiel.
Jeff as he was known to his friends and family graduated from Wooster High School in 1970 where he excelled and lettered in football, swimming and track. He graduated from Kent State University where he majored in Business. Jeff served his country in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed traveling and had seen much of the world. He loved the outdoors and especially working with his hands at the family beloved farm.
Surviving are his parentsof Wooster, sons, Alex Kiel of Wooster and Mark Kiel of Galion; brothers, John (Denise) Kiel of Wadsworth, Andy (Debbie) Kiel of Wooster and a sister, Pam (Chuck) Hess of Wooster; nieces, Mallory (Chris) Thompson of Columbus and Allie Sherwood of Pittsburgh and an uncle, Don (Irene) Strouse of Wooster.
Friends will be received at the Central Christian Church, 407 N. Market St., Wooster on Thursday evening, March 3, 2011 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Church on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Kevin Phipps officiating. Interment will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home,, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
