WOOSTER – Lucy Sophia MCCOY, 97, of Wooster passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 in West View Manor Nursing Home.
She was born August 7, 1913 in Wooster, the daughter of August G and Nora Fesler Buchholz. She married Walter R. McCoy on October 30, 1948. He preceded in 1981.
She was a 1931 graduate of Wooster High School and the Wooster Business College. Lucy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and the Franklin Homemakers Club. She enjoyed playing cards and crocheting winning many ribbons over the years at the Wayne Co. Fair. She also enjoyed traveling..
Surviving are daughter, Ruth McCoy of Wooster, sisters, Blanche Brazis of Burbank and Edna Blanchard of Howard, brothers, John Buchholz and Bernard Buchholz both of Wooster; 31 nieces & nephews.
In addition to her husband, Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband,Owen Blubaugh in 1942 whom she married in 1939, sisters, Agnes Buchholz, Hilda Offineer and brothers Leo and James Buchholz and one nephew.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday evening, March 9, 2010 from 5-8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery.
