AKRON – Dorothy Lucille HACKETT, 95, of Apple Creek, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Akron.
She was born March 20, 1915 in Wooster, the daughter of Clifford and Alma Sharp Layton
She had worked at Buckeye Aluminum, Rubbermaid and ACDC as a nurses aide. She was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Apple Creek, a member of the Gardenettas, Fountain Valley Housekeeping Club and the Franklin Twp. Housekeeping Club..
Surviving are her children, Larry (Mary Lou) Hackett of Apple Creek, Dalene Boring of Mogadore, Cheryl (Steve) Whitacre of Wooster, Errol (Laura) Hackett of Lac Du Flambeau, WI, Janice (Stephen) Brown of Akron and Pat (Lanny) Steckel of Uniontown, 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parennts and her husband Dale W. Hackett in 2003 and a grandchild.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peters United Church of Christ in Apple Creek with Pastor Candy Thomas officiating. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date.
