Steven Ross Barbera, 52, 842 Forest Drive Wooster, died April 9th
2011 at his home.
He was born May 22, 1958 to Ross and Rose Barbera. He
was married to Carmen Gross in Bowdle,SD in 1981. Together they had
three children. He was a loving and devoted father to; Marie Barbera
of New York City , Matteo Barbera of Wooster , and Pvt. Christian Barbera,
U.S. Army. Steve is survived by his parents and sister Vicki (John)
Hufgard, and brother Kelly, niece Rosanna and nephew Aaron. He is also
survived by aunts Elaine Barbera and Naomi Ward, along with many
cousins. Among his many friends, Tom Sines and his three sons were very
close to his heart. In addition, Steve was very good friends with Joel
Cessna, Les Boop, and Kelly Lycan.
Steve had a passion for basketball and shared his talents with many
local youth throughout the years. He gave freely of his time and
energy, coaching for the parks and recreation department of Wooster
and touched countless lives with his volunteer services.
Steve was an avid golfer, who loved to hit the links often with family and friends.
Steve graduated from Wooster high school in 1977, Ohio Valley College
in 1979, and Northern State College in 1982.
Steve was a dedicated employee for several companies over the years. The most recent being, Applied Engineering where he was vice president of sales.
Steve was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Steve will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor,
and his generosity. Even after death he is touching many lives through
organ donation.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 4-8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 16, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with the Rev. Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster..
