Franklin O. Fry, 87, Wooster, went to be with Our Lord, Friday April 29, 2011, at Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Frank was born on February 11, 1924 in Holmesville to Otis and Ethel (Heidi) Fry. He graduated from Holmesville High School in 1941.
He served in the U.S. Army in Europe as a tech sergeant in the medical corps during World War II from January 1943 to March 1946. In May 2010 he was privileged to be a part of the World War II Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
He attended pre-pharmacy studies at The Ohio State University and graduated from Ohio Northern University as valedictorian of the Pharmacy College in 1952.
Frank started his pharmacy internship at S.H. Boyd & Co. Drug Store in Wooster in 1949. He became a partner in the business in 1957. He retired from Boyd?s in December 1987. After retirement he worked for his friend Gordon Giffin at Giffin?s Drug Store and was a volunteer pharmacist for the Free Clinic.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Wooster where he previously served as an usher and on church council.
After retirement he enjoyed wood crafts, gardening and following his grandchildren?s sporting events.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Norma (Wolf) Fry whom he married June 18, 1950 in Shreve. Children Suzanne (Emil) Miller, Beth Ann (Fianc?e Mike Schafrath) Chenevey, all of Wooster, and Michael Fry of San Diego, CA. Grandchildren Laura (Justin) Himelright of Massillon, Katie and Sarah Miller, Amy (Josh) Hanna, and Andrew Chenevey all of Wooster. Great Grandchildren Madison Hanna, Emerson Himelright, and baby girl Himelright due in June. Brother Earl (Helen) Fry and Kenneth (Phyllis) Fry and sister in law Bernice Fry all of Wooster, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Carl.
Funeral service will be Tuesday May 3 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St. Wooster with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday May 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
Friends may call Monday May 2 from 6-8 p.m. at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster or one hour prior to the funeral service at Zion on May 3.

Tuesday May 3, 2011 at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church

Visitation
Monday May 2 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church
