H. Stanley Dawson, 81, of Wooster died Sunday May 8, 2011 at his home.
He was born August 12, 1929 in Wooster the son of Maynard S. and Lois Colville Dawson. On October 4, 1953 he married Louella Hiller who survives.
The family will receive friends at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster, Ohio 44691 Tuesday evening May 10, 2011 from 6-8 P.M. A private family funeral service and burial will be held at Wooster Cemetery.
Stanley was a retired safety engineer from Rubbermaid. He worked at the Wooster Township fire department for 25 years serving 14 years as chief. He also served as a minuteman for the Wooster City Fire Department for 20 years giving him a total of 45 years in fire and rescue service. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He helped organize the first Soap Box Derby in Wayne County and served the organization for over twenty years. He was active in the 20-30 club for sixteen years and he was a charter member of the Wayne County Historical Society, and a member of Ebenezer Lodge 33 F&A.M.
Surviving is his wife of Wooster. Two Daughters: Jennifer Baker of Wooster, and Julie Gough of N.Canton. 3 grandchildren.
