WOOSTER – Richard Dick. BECKER, 73, of Wooster, passed away Monday June 13, 2011 in Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born June 6, 1938 in Wooster, the son of Milo G and Helen Rhoades Becker.
He was a 1956 graduate of Wooster High School and retired as a mail carrier after 36 years and served as union president for over 50 years. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren with their sports, was an avid golfer, bowler and card player. He and Betty enjoyed bus trips. Dick was a member of the Elks and the Moose Lodges..
Surviving are wife, Betty Phillabaum-Glasgo Becker, to whom he had been married 53 years; his sons, Douglas of Fredericksburg, Kelly (Patty) of Dalton and Todd (Cindy) of Shreve; grandchildren, Courtney, Aaron, Dillon, Michaela, Logan, Eric and Brianna; a great-granddaughter, Alexa and an adopted brother, Phillip Becker.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Shirley Jensen.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 from 5-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Tim Hull officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
