Wooster ? Dean W. Simeral, 86 of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in his home.
He was born July 25, 1924 in Jefferson County, Ohio, the son of James Blaine and Clara Carmen Wallace Simeral. He married Ruth V. Mallernee on June 14, 1947. She died August 27, 2003.
He retired as vice president of public affairs from the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation in 1989 after 40 years employment. Dean served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1946. He was a former resident of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Leesburg, Florida.
Surviving are his children Scott H. of New York City, Gary (Betty) of Hiram and a son-in-law Tim Mendiola of Wooster; grandchildren Robert Simeral of Hiram and Anthony and Christine Mendiola both of Wooster; a very special friend and companion Laura Marie McConahay of Wooster.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Susan Mendiola and a brother Robert and a sister Pauline Randolph.
A memorial service will be held in Wooster on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at the Wayne Presbyterian Church, 7152 Burbank Rd., Wooster with the Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. A pre-service fellowship will take place at 5:30 p.m.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parkview Presbyterian Church, 6969 Livingston Avenue, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 with the Rev. Steve Moulton officiating.
