WOOSTER – James H DUFFY, 86, of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in his home.
He was born September 9, 1924 in Cincinnati, the son of James Hessin and Norma Lonneman Duffy.
He retired from Frito-Lay as a manager after over 30 years of employment. James was an avid camper, boater and fisherman. He served his country with the US Army during WWII with the 274th Field Artiliary group and had attended their reunions for the past 63 years.
Surviving are wife, Eleanor R Kneipp Duffy, to whom he had been married 63 years; his children Karen Lintala of Dublin, Tom Duffy of Katy, Texas, Don (Jan) Duffy of Marshallville, Bill (Connie) Duffy and Dick (Cindy) Duffy both of Wooster and Amy Slabaugh of Massillon; 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 2 step-great-grandchildren and a brother, Daniel Duffy of Cincinnati.
James was preceded in death by his parents, a son, James Duffy and brothers, Edward & Robert Duffy.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Saturday evening, June 25, 2011 from 6-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m service on Monday, June 27 at the Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center St., Milford, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati.
