WOOSTER – John Anthony COPPOLA, 80, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in his home.
He was born July 7, 1930 in Wooster, the son of Anthony and Elvira Gasbarre Coppola. He married JoAnn Groff on September 14, 1950. She survives.
He had sold office equipment for over 30 years at Wooster Office Equipment. John was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Lamplighters.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Jody Lanham of Wooster, Jan (Tom) Dawson of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Jamie (Mija) Coppola of Saverna Park, Maryland; grandchildren, Hillary VanDyke, Morgan Lanham, Brianna Lanham, Philip Dawson, Anthony Coppola and Alea Coppola; great-grandchildren, Coral Moon VanDyke, Rosalin Lanham and Jose Lanham; a sister, Lydia Miller of Durango, Colorado.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cecilia Easterday.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Avenue, Wooster with Rev. Stephen Moran as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Wooster.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
