Karoline Mae Casey Ward, 83, of Wooster passed away Saturday August 13, 2011 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday August 17, 2011 at the Church of the Savior 480 Fry Rd. Wooster Ohio 44691 with Rev. Dr. Brent Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the service onWednesday.
She was born March 6, 1928 in Holmes County the daughter of Paul and Mary Sloan Maurer. On June 8, 1947 she married Elden D. Casey who passed away on June 26, 1979. On April 22, 2000 she married Virgil H. Ward who passed away on September 9, 2010.
Karoline was a 1946 graduate of Shreve High School. She was a Homemaker and helped work on the family farm. She was active in the Triway Music Boosters, Wooster Township PTA. And had been a Sunday School teacher over the years. She was a member of the Church of the Savior in Wooster and was a past member of Maple Grove Methodist Church where she had served as co-treasurer, Blachleyville Church of Christ and Bethel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, traveling, crossword puzzles and had belonged to various card clubs.
Surviving are her three children: Nora (Richard) Casey Wineland of Newark, Ohio, Stanley (Jill) Casey of Marion Ohio and Mark (Mildred) Casey of Shreve. 7 grandchildren: Cassie (Zeke) Gibson, Kristian (Tara) Casey, Vincent Casey, Abegail (Darren Mills) Casey, Zachary (Julie Kelley) Casey, Joshua Casey and Katrina Casey. 6 great grandchildren: Dru, Catie, Austin, Jillian, Raegan, and Maddi. One brother ; Myron (Mary Ellen) Maurer.
Along with her parents and husbands Karoline was preceded in death by a granddaughter Heidi Wineland. Brothers: Robert Maurer and James Maurer. A sister; Dorothy Kendall and three infant siblings.
