WOOSTER – Patricia Ann MARR, 81, went home to her Lord and savior on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Smithville Western Care Center, after a period of declining health.
She was born April 2, 1930 in Cleveland to the late Donald and Helene (Schleutermann) Durrant. She married David A. Marr on August 19, 1950 and made her name in Wooster.
In 1951, Pat graduated from the Huron School of Nursing in Cleveland. She spent 30 years caring for others as a nurse at Wooster Community Hospital.
She joined the Wooster Methodist Church in 1946. There she sang in the choir and participated in the quilting circle.
Pat enjoyed sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her friends. She loved music and her church.
Surviving are her children, Susan (Gary) Bowman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, James (Lynnette Hahn) Marr of Orrville and Cheryl (James) Swain of Senecaville; grandchildren, Brett Bowman, Matthew Bowman, Lindsey (Marr) Lorson and her husband Dan, Andrew Marr, William Swain and Alicia Swain; a brother, George Durrant and his wife Bonnie and a sister, Delores Miller; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Donna Milsap, Ann Pinkley and Dorothy Cutshaw
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband in 1994 and a granddaughter, Katie.
A memorial luncheon sponsored by the church women will be held Friday, September 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 N. Market St., Wooster. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends after the service. Inurnment will take place in the Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
