David S. Thorley, age 74, of Silver Lake; passed away early Monday morning, September 12, 2011 at his residence.
David was born September 1, 1937 in Wooster to the late Omar and Ruth (Weaver) Thorley.
He was a District 6 Director of the USSSA in Northeast Ohio. His true passion was softball; He loved the game on every level.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Mary A. Fromm.
He is survived by his three daughters, Tamara J. Thorley of Elkton, MD, Elizabeth A.(Brooks Howard) Thorley of Rochester, NY, Sue R. Vanderhoof of Stow. Grandchildren, Paige and Shae Bradley, David and Vienna Howard, Melinda and Michelle Vanderhoof, Jesse, Jenean and Julia Corcoran, and John A. Fromm, II; great-grandchildren, Kendra Campbell, Maliah and Amirah Harmon, Cameron Wasko, and Mason Corcoran. He loved all of his grandchildren dearly.
Friends may call Friday 6-8pm at the McIntire, Davis, & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. in Wooster where the funeral service will be celebrated at 1:30pm. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Thorley Memorial Fund, Rochester Area Community Foundation, 500 East Ave. Rochester, NY 14607.
