WOOSTER -Julius N. WILSON, 88, of Wooster passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born November 18, 1922 in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Clarence and Lottie Murrey Wilson.
He retired as a spot welder at US Steel Fabricators after 35 years of employment. Member of the Second Baptist Church and had served his country with the US Army during WWII in Rhineland, Northern France and Central Europe.
Surviving are a son, Al J. Wilson of Nevada; sisters, Marylee Johnson of Charleston, South Carolina and Ernestine (Willie) House of Wooster and a brother, Marian (Rebecca) Gadsden of Wooster; his God children Bonnie Mootry of Illinois and Gwendolyn Wilson of Charleston, South Carolina; special adopted family, Kathy Mitchell of Wooster and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Julius was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Thelma Thompson Wilson on June 21, 1986, a sister Frances Morton and a brother Raymond Wilson..
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Second Baptist Church, 245 S. Grant St., Wooster with the Rev. Rickey Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery with military services conducted by American Legion Post #68 of Wooster.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
The family would like to extend thanks to Pastor Rickey Brown of the Second Baptist Church and to everyone who sent cards and visited Julius during his illness, Wooster Community Hospital, Smithville Western Care Center and Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co. for their excellent care.
