WOOSTER – Violet E SIMONS, 85, of Wooster, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 in Aultman Hospital in Canton.
She was born August 7, 1926 in Barberton, the daughter of William and Ruth Buckerfield McWhorter.
She was a proud graduate of Kenmore High School class of 1944 and this past summer attended her 65th class reunion. She had worked as a private secretary for Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton for 35 years. She attended church services in the chapel at West View Manor Nursing Home. Violet was a very loving and caring person that brought a smile to everyone’s face that she met.
Surviving are nieces Jeri (Gary)Messner of Wooster, Deanna Johnson, Joanne Messner, Haylie Messner, Jasaiah Messner, Amy Lawrence, Gigi Burnley and Anita (Don) Smith; nephews, Pat McCorkle of Barberton and Don (Linda) Himmelright of Seville.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Susan Simons and sisters, Evelyn Himmelright and Betty McCorkle
There will be no calling hours or services..
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
